Today's Photo Journal: Surprises...
My amazing SuperHusband surprised me with these gorgeous roses, and they reminded me of the surprise quilt I started for my mother before she got so sick. Now that she's on the mend and we're back to some kind of normal routine, I'm going to finish it.
Tsk, tsk. No peeking! I'll give you a hint, though: It's made using Maxine Rosenthal's One-Block Wonder technique. For a while, I was totally addicted to this method because of the beautiful impressionist-style results you get from a single fabric cut into kaleidoscope blocks. ...Okay, so addicted might be an understatement. I currently have four of these cut and sitting in my closet to piece. A fiberphile's work is never done!
Haven't you ever found yourself going a little overboard?
